Kate bridges the gap between professional sports and corporate growth
Why ‘radical authenticity’ has never failed me on the path to living out my best life and accomplishing my most important dreams.

LESSONS FROM:
THE BOATHOUSE, THE BOARDROOM, AND BREAST CANCER
How we show up for life’s greatest opportunities is directly proportional to how we show up for life’s toughest moments of adversity. Kate Johnson’s story is one of relentless pursuit. An Olympic medalist, executive leader, cancer survivor, and influential women sports advocate, Kate’s uniquely diverse leadership experiences draw on a wealth of lessons learned navigating adversity, building resilience, and galvanizing teams around a common vision. Kate draws authentic parallels between the journey she and her teammates traveled to become the first Olympic medal for the US in twenty years, to the discomfort, adversity, and resilience she brought to her executive career, and cancer.
Her leadership in integrated brand marketing at Google, Visa, and IMG have earned her recognition as one of the "Most Powerful Women in Sport", and her advocacy and professional leadership has been covered by Forbes, the Athletic, Adweek, and Espn. Kate serves on the IOC’s Brand and Digital Marketing Commission, is a Trustee of the Women's Sports Foundation, and is a board advisor for the University of Michigan's Sports Management Program and Gatorade's Women's Advisory Board. A former Olympic rower and World Champion, Johnson is a 2004 Olympic medalist and 2002 World Champion. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she was a three-time first-team All-American.

WHAT IS
THE ATHLETIC IMPACT
The athletic impact lives within all of us. It is a crucible that forges resilience, teaches teamwork, and drives reinvention. It is understanding that the best version of ourselves is a constant work in progress. That the legacy of who we are is determined by how we show up when no one is watching. It's having a vision, backed by goals, backed by daily incremental actions towards improvement. It is the unspoken understanding that we are what we repeatedly do. That learning to fail is essential in learning how to rise. And that there would be no adventure without a healthy dose of uncertainty.
